Uninspired Seed

Uninspired Seed

A Poem by Jo Anna Bella

Proteus, splashing by -

A washed in whirlpools of insatiable curiosity,

his wagging tongue creating

odysseys of kings reclaiming legacies.

Prometheus,

silly titan 'jone-ing' on Zeus.

Goofing up - granting man fire;

to dine on more than nuts and fruit.

Pandora, prancing by,

erupting from their male engorged visions,

so naive and with no mentor;

found corrupting life’s hidden treasure.

Poor me, lost in your hazel hue eyes,

begging your pardon, and for early release.

Why swallow me whole, sequester

my pride, then drain my energy until ceased?

Will you continue on, still for centuries more,

re-hashing such scenes for your amusement?

Sucking life-force from neophytes across the

eons of life...always NEVER full, amiably malcontent?
