DaughterA Poem by jb3A quick poem for my daughters 14th B-dayFormless, Without cause Always stuttering Through seamlessly empty halls Love always absent Liquid, Far from concrete So was my life During all the hollow days Before our eyes would finally meet
February, Dark Bland and Cold Always, still searching For reasons not yet to be told
Excitement and wonder Sunshine and chills Upon entering the world All became real
The first breath that you took Wasn’t yours alone I was immediately blessed And for once I felt whole
The gift I received The day you arrived Was the love I was missing That gave me my life
Beautiful, compassionate Funny, kind, and sweet Daughter you are my number one And you make my life complete
