The Veil

Somehow I found out by accident what someone should never remember or feel but somehow I survived

The Deception...

The Lies...

The Regret...

Its all there...

Under the Veil of my past....

The Things I didn't know...

Or maybe what I didn't want to remember...

All came to the surface...

Nothing could have stopped it..

It couldn't stay there forever...

Curiosity killed the Cat but What if...?

Satisfactory didn't bring it back....

Some how something maybe should stay...

Under that Veil of Truth....

The more I thought of it...

The more I ran...

The more I remembered...

The more I cried inside...

And the more I began ...

to break on the outside....

If the unknown was scary...

The known was even worse...

Everything A child should never see...

Finally I remembered....

Finally I saw....

Nothing can ever take it back...

Nothing can ever make it better...

The pain....

Thats the worst part...

Knowing you were too young to do something...

To save someone you loved and who loved you....

But all you could do is watch...

Cause then you'd be next....

I found out so many things in one day...

The blanks were filled....

The memories are all there...

What am I supposed to do now?

I can't hide anymore

The Veil has lifted and can be used no longer...

For the girl that remembers it all....

The old saying "Ignorance is bliss" is for a good reason cause we can't undo things we learn, in life I believe we are better off not knowing certain things... when we are kids we can block out a lot and when those bad memories resurface it can be a shock to the system... anyways you piece is very well articulated with powerful emotion.
