Walls Of DiscontentA Poem by ~jay-pee~>WALLS OF DISCONTENT
This I've come to know, surrounded by these walls, A place of discontent, a shadow to us all.
Above us in the night, stars lined in a row, As rolls of time spin by, I push to see them go.
Taken by the mist, which tames the grueling heat, I stumble through times pathways, which numbs my aging feet.
For here I'm but a prisoner, of lifes cruel and twisted ways, Struggling to move further, I'm lost inside this maze.
Searching for a loose brick, a place to chisel through, To escape all that surrounds me, I'm attempting now to do.
I'm caught inside this trap, my patience growing thin, Now I must wait with discontent, until the walls give in. © 2011 ~jay-pee~>Featured Review
