![]() In the MorningA Poem by Jay Nowak![]() A man struggles with himself as he hangs onto his sanity by a thread.![]()
My head is clear and I'm breathing fine
not a trouble in the world stands in my way. Time passes by the day, zooming on by. Not a worry in the world. I woke up this morning with time slowing down my strength and my will are leaving in the drops of my sweat. Focus dwindles away and the walls are closing in. I'm struggling to make it through the day. The future seems so far away, tucked and locked away. Memories of my past as forgotten in the gray. I can't remember much except the walls are closing in, trapped beneath this veil, I'm glued to this place. Darker and darker this rooms starts to become. I even feel comfortable calling it home. Won't recognize your faces so leave it all behind. Time ticks with every second, chained to just one day. Elapsing ever so slowly, I long to just get out. Don't see an exit door so I'm left to my own self. Can't stand another day in this place, in the morning you'll find me dead.
