Dako's FreedomA Chapter by kannerjay
Dako sat on Kohayo's shoulder. It was comfortable. How good they air felt!
He wasn't completely sure what had just happened. He'd finally come out of the tube, though, and that made him happy. He would work with Kohayo. But so far Kohayo seemed kind of mean. He killed people and stole things for a living. Was that the sort of person he wanted to work with? Or did he even have a choice? Would Kohayo kill him if he was not cooperative? He didn't want to die a second time. Not that he remembered the first time, but he sensed that something had been terrible before he had come back. " Kohayo, will you kill me? " Dako asked in a small, pleading voice, hoping the answer would be no. " Not as long as you're useful. You'll be useful as long as you live, because even if you won't work for me, I can sell you to someone else. " Dako understood he was dangerous, stolen property, and Kohayo had risked alot to get him. This made him valuable. He didn't know why he would be valuable, or exactly how valuable, but valuable enough that he was worth more alive than dead. Or at least to Kohayo. Dako pondered for several minutes about what kind of work he would be valuable for. He was good at many things. He could be used for gambling. This is probably what Kohayo had in mind. They were headed towards an unknown destination. " Kohayo-chan, where are we headed? " Kohayo grunted. " What are you, Japanese? Just call me Kohayo. And anyways, we're headed towards the theif's exchange near the city park. " It was then they entered the city park, where he would make exchanges with a fellow thief. The meeting place was to be neaar a park bench. There we found a girl. She was a cute, little wolf demon. Kohayo seemed aggravated. He kicked her off the bench. She woke up, scowling. " Who the hell are you? " she asked, almost as irritated as Kohayo. " Who hell are you? " he spat back. She seemed to calm down. " Aren't you the famous thief? " " What of it? " It seemed to me that they were quite similar when it came to personality: frightening and savage. I wondered if the wolf girl was a thief. She didn't look like a thief. " She isn't the thief for the exchange, Kohan. " Kohayo twitched at the nickname. But I didn't want to call him by his weird name. Kohan sounded much better. " Kohan? " she giggled. " Is that really you're name? " Kohayo glared. " It's Kohayo. I have no use for you if you aren't the thief... " he sniffed the air. " You have meat. " " Yes. Willing to make a trade? " " Sure. But name first. " " Malah. " So they started bantering for her deer meat, as I sat and watched. Kohayo seemed to remember me. " Dako, what do you eat? " I fought hard to remember. Then I did. " I'm an android... I don't eat. " Malah seemed slightly interested in me. " Can I pet your lizard? " Kohayo turned sour. " No, you may not. " She did it anyways. © 2012 kannerjay |
