You

You

A Poem by jessiemei
"

I originally didn't have a title for this one...

"

You whisper thanks to the wind for bearing witness to your thoughts

You give sympathy to the trees for holding your ground

You split yourself into two; a split personality

Into two so you can run far away while you can still hold a seat

You make hiding attractive and finding you fun

When really it’s your nature to find comfort to run

Our hearts are like children, eager and scared

Your soul is like a vault with a non-existent key

Rather, you seduce others to deceive yourself

So it’s you against yourself and you always conquer

You seem to have the power to choose the voyagers of your heart

You call them with your eyes and beckon with affection

Like a cobra, you strike with precision and with extreme power

But your power is unseen, unfelt but oh so endearing

But the voyagers come and go and it is heavily misunderstood

For when change occurs, you hide even further into your solitude

But you always come out on top…don’t you?

The most attractive of prey but deep inside…a predator of a different kind.

I just put it under the category as a poem, I don't know if it classifies.
