PoemA Poem by jay geenenI think I know hat James Taylor was thinking in his songs.
Midnight Blue
You know its something
When the words do not come
With the savvy and charm as they
Usually do
As I sit waiting
Waiting on midnight blue
Waiting for God knows what
Waiting
The beers numb the pain
The pen flashes of brilliance
With words on paper
All waiting, waiting, waiting.
A dine lays on the table
All alone
As if there is some meaning to it
Waiting, waiting on midnight blue
A man laments his lot in life
The cheats, the dishonest
How dare they dine at the silver platter
When I work so hard.
And there I was waiting
Waiting on midnight blue
For something that is true
Just waiting on midnight blue
Waiting.
A light came from under the door
As granny spoke to Mother Mary
A blue light at midnight
Waiting on midnight blue.
And I’ll wait a lifetime
Waiting on midnight blue
Waiting, waiting , waiting.
Waiting for the comforts of Midnight Blue
Waiting, waiting wasting my
Life away
Waiting for Midnight Blue
Waiting.
