"

I think I know hat James Taylor was thinking in his songs.

"

           Midnight Blue

You know its something
When the words do not come
With the savvy and charm as they
Usually do
As I sit waiting
Waiting on midnight blue
Waiting for God knows what
Waiting

The beers numb the pain
The pen flashes of brilliance
With words on paper
All waiting, waiting, waiting.

A dine lays on the table
All alone
As if there is some meaning to it
Waiting, waiting on midnight blue

A man laments his lot in life
The cheats, the dishonest
How dare they dine at the silver platter
When I work so hard.

And there I was waiting
Waiting on midnight blue
For something that is true
Just waiting on midnight blue
Waiting.

A  light came from under the door
As granny spoke to Mother Mary
A blue light at midnight
Waiting on midnight blue.

And I’ll wait a lifetime
Waiting on midnight blue
Waiting, waiting , waiting.
Waiting for the comforts of Midnight Blue
Waiting, waiting wasting my
Life away
Waiting for Midnight Blue
Waiting.

Very, very nicely penned. I like the free-form verse with this poem.
The repetition was great too; it never became too drawn out.
And, I agree with several reviewers; you could definitely put music to this.

This is really, I loved the wording and repetition of rhyme in this poem. The title actually drew me in as well, because you don't see that often! Great work!
