Blue Eyes Cont.

Blue Eyes Cont.

A Poem by jc

Frigid. Soft. Deep. Breathtaking. Blue.

I’ve never experienced such a feeling from one pair of eyes until I looked into his.

It’s still true, but there’s more to it now.

Pain. Defeat. Exhaustion.

Life.

This life has made those icy blue eyes ware down. Some days, so much so, I swear they’re grey.

Physical touch doesn’t pack the same punch it used to.

We’re right here. There’s no need to grasp for each other any more.

A kiss is just a habit. We cling to each other at night by default.

Routine ruined his blue eyes.

I almost can’t stand to look into them anymore.
