Vanilla Falls

Vanilla Falls

A Poem by Jay Boone
"

little poem about a day at the seaside

"
Vanilla Falls

Sun makes us squint
Tiny finger points
Vanilla please
Dad says, Vanilla! you sure?
Little head nods
Big smiles, then…
Vanilla falls
Vanilla falls
Slow motion splash
Tiny white droplets on sandals
Like tears.

Concise yet filled with meaning. I can see this entire scene unfold, and it moved well from one idea to the next. I actually enjoyed, too, that you didn't use quotation marks. I think they would have interrupted the flow of the piece. Nice work!
