Bright Melancholy HolidayA Poem by Jay SteitlerA memorial day prose poem
Food & fest combines with heart's heavy void,
setting the great paradox. Mutterings mix w/industrious preparations beneath the limitless limited blue. Hazy, cob-webbed azure reveals the mood of the moment. A crowd of emerald giants gather in memoriam, creaking, groaning, whispering heroic tales of generations past, in Zephyr's midst; competing to glow with the sun. As every humid molecule pelts flesh, parents and children find their collective rhythm, in true purpose of this day. Food, fun, and remembrance... © 2014 Jay SteitlerAuthor's Note
