Better Than This

A small poem, for setting the average moral compass, to something higher.

You'll always be welcome, because I'm better than this.

Not in the habit of dissing, over stupid conflict.

From here on, I'm all about the kindness,

not blind fury about disputes, past.

It's your choice, to wallow forever in this mud.

I will not suffer damnation, forever, holding a grudge!

also an experimental attempt at changing up rhyme pattern, just a little. As per most of my works, a living, breathing piece, in continuous development.

I wish my moral compass could wrap itself around forgiveness. You're a bigger person than me, I tend to hold a grudge, bad I know, good reminder in your poem. All depends on the transgression I think.

This was about a friend with deep emotion issues, that I love dearly, but have to part with. You are right, not holding a grudge is very difficult, issue to issue. Developming a high plane of consciousness helps. Now, as you may see, I've declared a "Pay it forward Sunday". Go forth with great merriment! :)
