war on the inside

war on the inside

A Poem by Jay Bailey

Nothing grows here
The soil is all sand
We're dust and bones
And starved for everything
Food, light, affection
The desire to give up is ever increasing
And we're all waiting to die
Until its ok with everyone else
Until the selfish get their fill
No, nothing makes us happy
Nothing fits in its proper place
Like a jaw out of joint
It's all maintain and hold back
Smile on the outside
War on the inside
