ever slowly

ever slowly

A Poem by Jay Bailey

ever slowly
is how it happens
we all fall down
in the end
when the body
loses function
aint it pretty
how it ends

they bring roses to the showing
cold and rainy to the soul
and i can't help but laugh so loudly
i can't take this seriously

whats more selfish
checking out quick
when you've always been in pain
i think selfish
is the ones who
don't want to have to deal with death
yes you loved him
yes you'll miss him
but the selfishness is your own
you'll throw blame out
you'll call names out
but you never cared about his pain
