another monday

A Poem by Jay Bailey

Snow melts but the rain keeps the sky grey
We all worship our vitamin d deficiencies here
We act cordial
But we never leave the house without our guns
All these people with their petty dramas
Their bad attitudes are contagious
I'm at a loss for restraint
All fall asleep in beds that aren't theirs
With lovers that aren't the ones they go home to
We are stuck in a hole with predators

A woman who never did anything to deserve the torment and trauma she gets from the men in her life
Now doesn't trust any man
And a good man who just wants to love her
Goes punished and thrown away
This is a place of scum
This is the dark cave where they hide the bones
I was born here
Into this
And I can't seem to find a way to get out of here
