buy your ticket

buy your ticket

A Poem by Jay Bailey
"

buy the ticket, take the ride

"
you get tired of writing about the pain
but its like the leaky roof
that just keeps dripping on your head
you patch up all the holes
think you've got it this time
and then you find more
the people you trust
will betray you
the people you love
will tell you they love you
right after they rip your heart out
with tears in there eyes
with quivering chin
cause the monster that you are
will never know unconditional love
they will leave you alone
with empty hands
and a stomach in knots
wondering where the last
four years of your life has gone

when you live in a hole in the ground
all your friends are worms
you tell your secrets
to bottom feeders
and blood suckers
they will tell you its your fault
and even though you know
that its not
you still believe them a little

these things keep happening
my foundations always rot out
from under neath me
i have no desire to live
in this world anymore
but I'm afraid its too late for that
my window of opportunity
closed a long time ago
and i am stuck
with this bleeding wound in my back
and an aching void
in my stomach

everyone loves the mystique
of someone with demons
until they see it for themselves
and it shakes them to the core
everyone will buy you
your ticket to hell
so they can experience it
through you
without having to hurt themselves
in the process
