Elsewhere

Elsewhere

A Poem by jaxon586
"

"

Sitting here, wondering where

Cigarette smoke filling my air

Breathing slowly, I’m wandering

Not here, not here

Elsewhere

I ran

I’m so far

I went away

I finally escaped

I don’t know where

I am

This place is free

High above that hole

Elsewhere, I am me

All I see are trees

Maybe I’ll climb one

The tallest of them all

Get as far from it as I can

And see

Maybe I’ll get there

Maybe I’ll float..

Or fall.

The speaker of the poem sounds disjointed and a bit shaken out of reality. I wouldn't capitalize each first word of each line... it distracts but maybe that's just a personal preference. I love the word 'elsewhere' because it is specific to a where but so vague as to what that where is. Great job!
