Help from a Friend

Help from a Friend

A Poem by BasketballGirl13

Awakened by the sun

to start a new day

but the clouds still linger

from yesterday's pain.

I can see it in your eyes

by the stress and the tears

that the problems in life

make you want to disappear.

But the fear of living

is a continuous fight

like a headless knight

wandering alone and scared.

The dark of the room

you perceive as safe

but no face can be seen

as you sit alone

pondering your life

and why you are stuck in this rut.

Failure to reach a dream

lost hopes of scoiety

the truth was finally seen

so why creep back in the hole.

Emotionally draining

putting on a face

for the world to see and perceive.

Physically exhausting

acting like a king

so no one knows or can forsee.

The ladder is breaking

under demise and lies

walls are building up

as you keep saying goodbye

but try to believe

try to perceive

try anything

to rebirth a dream

try to let out the screams

and forget the hurt

delete the impurities

erase away your worst enemy

illuminate the good from within

beg some help from your friends

for we want you to succeed.

Every second you breathe

we smile a bit more

knowing you survived the day.

All that I ask

is that you treasure today

realize your importance

and all will soon change

for your heart brings me joy

and I love you to death

let that be enough

to put your worries to rest.
