To FallA Poem by jawdriscollTo Fall To Fall, how Spring has passed with little time. How warmth, like light has faded; flowers gone. The water’s edge of shores, how gold lines climb, And time once slowed, now rushed with faster dawn. Like birth, the world once new with grand restore, Has now become the death of cradled love. And falling leaves of fires red, implore. How long till bleaching flight will come of doves? When leaves begin to set in earth’s brown crust, Your time begins to set in swollen hearts. And life that once was future joy, robust, Has passed to winter’s frozen, barren parts. But how from wind’s last sigh unravels light, And leads the dark unknown to last delight. © 2010 jawdriscoll |
