Wolves

Wolves

A Poem by jawdriscoll

Wolves

In the dark we danced around the coals.

With dreams of flight and fireflies,

Embraced, loved, sang from inner soul,

We called to wolves, howling we extolled.

And dancing till the night fell on the skies,

In the dark we danced around the coals.

The wildest canter of the young black foal,

Human worlds and meaning met demise,

Embraced, loved, sang from deepest soul.

Time, but still we played upon the knoll.

And looking back to times within your eyes,

In the dark we danced around the coals

Life, creation, quest through deepest holes,

The civil pact and order we defy,

Embraced, loved, sang from deepest soul.

Body, mind had parted, two lives whole,

And dawn, closely breaking with our cries

Darkness, still we danced round burning coals

Embracing, love and song, release of souls.
