Lost Love's Revelation

Lost Love's Revelation

A Poem by jawdriscoll

Lost Love's Revelation

I think, finally, I will outlast,

Pain, you have caused me,

My life, you have bruised.

And think my heart

Is quick to beat,

But slow, and steady

It seams, at last.

My misery, did not pass,

Though hurt and dread,

I have surpassed, the torture.

Physical, my mind had made it,

Hidden by feeling, clothed in hope

Of past horizons’ light.

Needles, how they sewed, in my grief,

My heart, locked, a frozen safe.

Thoughts, like tombstones,

Etched with stories.

Our love, earthquake, of our glories.

Pensive, caged with clots, within,

I could not venture past the tides

And masked by rushes, fervent,

Dreams of cyclic passion.

Then lost in lands, like Limbo,

Where judgment, waiting

Visions, of a secular devotion,

But stars turn black, with time

And hope means life, beating forward.

I feel, finally, my heart

 Will never move,

Though sewn and fixed,

In times, eternal funnel.

Still lost in medial beats.

But slow, and steady,

It seems at last,

Though stopped, it seems,

Tomorrow.
