An ode to Coffee

An ode to Coffee

A Poem by Kermit Gildersleeve

Coffee,

Bitter Black ambrosia

Focuses my thought into Beam

Brings clarity to consciousness,

Weaves together

the disparate strands

rent asunder by its absence

lifts the tension

of many burdens from my shoulders

life from a cup

more than mortal beverage

Mead of Odin

Animation of the tongue

I can restrict or limit my intake of a lot of things, but not coffee. Like you, I gotta have it or else be "rent asunder by it's absence".
