Legos

Legos

A Poem by Kermit Gildersleeve
"

A fun poem about one of my favorite toys as a child.

"

Red

Green

Blue

White

Yellow and black,

One stud

Twostud

Six stud

Square,

My legos are everywhere,

Out of these peices

come cars and planes

Cites and ancient ruins

starbases and farms

dinosaurs and robots

the contents of little imaginations

yellow micro people with yellow stud heads

become knights and pirates

astronauts and policemen

the willing inhabitants of the works of your hands

A nice trubute and memory. They didn't have Legos when I was ten, or I'm sure I'd have played with them. No, the closest thing was the "Erector set." (That doesn't even sound right anymore) My 17 year-old son loved Legos, and has a huge box of them somewhere. Thank you for sharing this.
