Love & LiesA Poem by JaushWilson
For your love is nothing much but inclined desire
Through an ice cold trench with my mind on fire Water turned to wine, Then wine transformed to whiskey An entire empire built with powder; A hollow shell that's empty The smart, They like to talk about the foolish, and the witless But it's not so dumb you see, For the wise, They like to listen The birds will sing at dawn, but the owl will hunt at night So much anger in their words, It's absurd they love to fight Maybe it's an insight of the hate they bundle up inside Could we eventually unite under the same reasons we divide? And what's all this about fate, Is it true that we decide? So many angels that I met but were merely devils in disguise Their tongues, They speak of peace, Why doesn't anyone consider it? But behind closed doors, You see, They wage war among the innocent Arrogant with ignorance, None tend to seek deliverance 'Do What Thou Wilt' they claimed, Drunk on power, Most belligerent Don't look at similarities, Instantly focus in on differences One little act of kindness could make someone's day significant
This house of cards they built will one day meet the breeze Some will try to inhale, but can't, Then finally see their need to breathe For love is but a gamble, See there is no guarantees But you need to let it move you, like the wind blown through the trees It's infectious, This disease, Can't you see that it brings peace So love abroad far as the stars, and deeper than the sea, Love free © 2017 JaushWilsonReviews
