Wish for a LifeA Poem by JasperThings to share with a special person
Clear blue skies that promise life, As clouds are golden hues of hope, Reflecting sunlight onto meadows, And woods and lakes and streams. Rain to cleanse the earth below, From thunderous heads it pours, Rejuvenating, giving life, To all that feels its sweet caress. Ocean depths and white topped crests, As restless waves lap the sand, Erasing all trace of human kind, Of those who stepped before. Stars alone in deepest black, Lamps of hope they glint, Against all odds they light the way, Steadfast through space and time. The oldest tree that stands alone, Renewed another time, The seasons rolling on and on, Wiped clean of last years tears. Cold winters snow that covers dirt, And grime and mud and filth, Taking the worst this world can be, Dressed in white silken gowns. Late summer wine and soft sweet love, Golden skin and warmest breeze, Folding into lovers arms , Of yielding surrender. All these things you are to me And one day we may see them all Hand in hand, arm in arm, mouth to mouth Together… © 2008 JasperReviews
