Letter to a Brother

Letter to a Brother

A Poem by Kenneth Stephen Goodpaster

Brother, sweet brother how do you not know
Of the indulgence lying down below
When many have given their solemn claim
For trinkets of the distinctive yellow.

Such it is true as we have the masons
So moral elitism can have reasons
And perhaps redirection to our aim,
Their intent is for organizations.

Spare me not brother of your ignorance
Despite admirable to claim innocence
For all men are equal and just the same
But each to his own and his reverence

Though you may fantasize a preclusion,
Brother, sweet brother you face delusion.
