Buttons and PeachesA Poem by Kenneth Stephen Goodpaster
Exchanging endearing coos with my birds, Each with their glorious array of feathers And some attempting to articulate words; All unbounded and lacking of tethers.
Buttons, the button thieving cockatoo, Throws at me his charismatic gazes, Whilst sister Peaches preens thorough and through; Character and charm"I find"still amazes.
My flattery and coyness excites spite, From life’s companion who is out of my sight. © 2013 Kenneth Stephen GoodpasterReviews
