A Lover's Voice

A Lover's Voice

A Poem by Kenneth Stephen Goodpaster
"

I always felt a stir in my hear to hear my name called by a beautiful girl.

"
A sweet, tender voice sings out from within, calling my name,
One that soothe the anguish of an infant.
Tis a voice that hath carried me to fall in love for its Dame,
A love on the outside, seemingly distant
A graceful vessel claimed owner to the maidenly voice
Calling out for the gaunt fellow lover
Whose features be bleak and seldom he merrily rejoice,
Yet never calls the name of another
Upon the sound of warmhearted calling thy name,
To the calling’s begetter I walk to kiss fore,
a sign of dear affection proclaiming love plane
To where heaven’s ceiling begins is it’s floor
When my name is sung, bound to her heavenly voice
Brings upon a time I do rejoice.
