Moon Reflects And Draws The Tide Of Dreams

Moon Reflects And Draws The Tide Of Dreams

A Poem by JC

Moon Reflects And Draws The Tide Of Dreams

I piss clear
And it reminds me
Of a thousand biles
And the dull grey
Of drunk tanks

Seems so long ago
That beast that was
My youth
A dream

A nostalgic July
Through window screens
And all the flesh
That slipped through
My fingers
All too quickly

Fragile leaves
The omnipresent odour
Of cut grass
The sweet scent of night
An ever-present moon
Reflected off soft legs

All that is left behind
Is not always lost

I think the poem takes a turn when you begin with the stanza,A nostalgic July
Through window screens
And all the flesh
That slipped through
My fingers
All too quickly

Fragile leaves
The omnipresent odour
Of cut grass
The sweet scent of night
An ever-present moon
Reflected off soft legs

All that is left behind
Is not always lost..it was beautiful..

hmmm i enjoyed this.. it starts out like bukowski and then moves outward into this breezily beautiful imagery (something bukowski was also known to do when he really wanted to LOL) my favourite two stanzas are the last.. but the whole works so fluidly together

memories are interesting things to dwell on O_o good job! the passion behind these words is clear, but though you describe what you see, i can't reach out to the imagery just yet and the pictures are slightly blurred. hmmm, that's the only constructive criticism i can give for this piece :)
