Each Horizon Holds Onto A Different Lover

Each Horizon Holds Onto A Different Lover

A Poem by JC

Each Horizon Holds Onto A Different Lover

Walking home down
East 11th at 3:30 in
The morning I am
In awe of Vancouver’s
Beauty

A warm breeze
Quietly surrounds me
The atmosphere alive
With an electric crackle
On the cusp of lightning

Perceptions widen
In the solitude of
Perfumed nights
Amongst the
Wild foliage

How do I begin to
Explain the rugged
Gentleness of
East Van streets?

What better realization
Than that of pristine
Experience

Go west young man
Come west young man
Come west young woman

I felt that anyone from Vancouver would appreciate this piece more, but as someone who has never been here,i love how you write..you are unpredictable and whatever theme you take up you write it with a certain fluidity that is not easy, but with your words it comes spontaneously...you breathe in such ease to them.

oh yes... these are the things i so love about vancouver.. i was blown away when i first moved here, and throughout my days of love/hate, i still find myself capturing moments of wonder.. like when i sat under the big pagoda near the skate park/basketball court on the sea wall (near the awesome time top.. i frickin love that thing) and the rain just poured down in these torrential buckets, making false creek just look so wild and untamed.. (and not at all the scary festering water we know it to be in reality)
