Booze Blues

Booze Blues

A Poem by JC

Booze Blues

The nights chew through me
But I tear through the nights…

No one can touch me
I’m a ghost
An East Van spectre
A stumblebum shadow
Frequently mistook for a drug dealer
Or homeless stain…

I flip lids on the razorblade stage
Chomp literary and morose in blathersome ears
I got bucketfuls of this tripe
Just waiting to dump on your wires
Trip up the mainframe
With this sad game my friends…

Step right up folks!
See the monster in his golden cage
Throw beer nuts into his ever-flapping gums
Poke his crooked spine with the
Verbial finger of Homo erectus

Tomorrow is another day
The shame rising with the sun and the bile

Sink heavy…

Sink heavier than all the past night’s emotion…

Sink heavy through the blue
Into the infinite vastness of the depths
Watch the sun fade
A slow drown for all to marvel

Too bad they left the stands hours ago

sink heavy through the blue... goddamn but i know that sensation all too well. i understand that ache intimately..

you use some absolutely crazy sick words here: blathersome, stumblebum. delish!

drawing the human card is a crapshoot at best~ fiendishly strung energy through the language and metaphors flayed beautiful raw~

that beginning is just bad a*s,

The nights chew through me
But I tear through the nights

No one can touch me
I'm a ghost
An East Van spectre
A stumblebum shadow
Frequently mistook for a drug dealer
Or homeless stain
