Lonely Winter Crossroads

Lonely Winter Crossroads

A Poem by JC

The snow is coming down,
Making me squint at a time
I'd like them to be wide open,
Observing the beauty of this winter night.

In the distance,
A lone red light sways
In the center of a crossroads,
The wind orchestrating
A kind of maniacal symphony,
Making the tree branches
Seem like the limbs of lunatics.

I listen to the coyotes
High pitched howls and squeals,
Wondering if she will ever
Experience these moments with me...
