Faded Memories

I like to think about all the good times that have past

They remind me to cherish the new ones I'll cast

because I know eventually they will all fade away

a lot can happen in a day

As a new day passes by

an old friend might leave my side

at least I have the memories

at least I can remember when we where friends and not enemies

Even the memories I've tried to burn from my mind

I miss when they where cherished when you and I where kind

as another friend goes another comes by

it's funny how I thought we'd all be by each others side

I don't miss them I miss our trust and loyalty

we all had each others sides and treated ourselves like royalty

I wonder if I have already faded away from the people I once called friends

the memory of me in other peoples minds I wonder when that ends

I wish I could live forever in my memories

to never fade in the best moments for centuries

why does all the good have to end with pain

why can't the mistakes that made the good end fade away

I guess I will never know why

just live life day by day and cherish the new memories that come by

when my time comes there will be no worries

because when I die I will live with my faded memories
