Truth Heals, Denial Hurts

This is the latest song I wrote.

People talk, but your words hurt the most

You tear me down and I feel like a ghost

Forgive and forget, that’s what I tell myself

And I’m taking the memories off of the shelf

 

The scars on my heart are a deep, deep blue

It’s hard to imagine life without you

But what can I say, you proved me wrong

And I keep my head up, just stay strong

 

The part that hurts the most

Is that we were so close

But still you went and treated me bad

Our conversations made you curse

You broke my heart and it got worse

And now I know that the truth heals, but denial hurts

You said you loved me but that didn’t mean a thing

Cause you knew that your words would really sting

You let go so, so easily

And like broken glass you’re walking over me

 

The scars on my heart are a darkish gray

And I never will forget that day

But what can I say, you broke me down

Got tired of having me around

 

The part that hurts the most

You walked out of my life and took my pride

With nothing left on the inside

But just know one thing, your soul is blue

I’m sick of all the things you put me through

So why do I still love you?
