Is there something wrong with this skin
embroidered by the slaves and their Conquistadores
Sticking to yours like an adhesive

Stoic you
 

only your eyes dance
and shall we dance further
after I've already fallen
for you

 

for all of you who tumble like grapes rolling off a tabletop
  one
         after
                another
Too many to count
Stoic you

 

Is there anything wrong with these lips
these hands that play for you
This elbow, this forehead, these shins
being admired like equisite artwork by those dancing pupils

If I hated you you'd be forthcoming
you'd more than ask for my name
and my lips

but I've already
              fallen

I like the way this poem moves on white space... the way it makes my eyes move as I read it. My favorite line would have to be "If I hated you you'd be forthcoming."
