Heart of the GoddessA Poem by JarraiA poem written based on the images that emerged from my imagination due to some strange music.
At first, Colors emerge Green, brown, and a sliver of silver, Then, as if in conscious transformation, These colors morph, taking on the shape and texture of feathers Adorning Aboriginals in a festive manner.
The drought has dragged on, and finally, With the help of drums, dance, and incense, They will summon the Goddess to pour her heart upon them
A thousand feet Command a plea
“Come Come, Goddess of rain Goddess of Love We, Your people honor your power Come Come, sky water, bearer of life We, your people need you now From From, Your bosom we originate From From, your breath we owe life We, your children beg forgiveness”
The drums fade, precipitation the answer The cycle renewed, her children celebrate until dawn Their smiles singing to the heavens, wet with the heart of the goddess. © 2008 JarraiFeatured Review
