Letter to the Future

Letter to the Future

A Poem by Jarrai
"

A poem, thats all I can say

"

Mortal Dream

Running through,

the light is beyond reach

Floating in ambiance, the ambulances’

sirens ring

Shining, the singing sea devours me alight

Scratched corneas corner ya'.

Blind

is the b*****d who preaches lies,

Marble masks masquerade as truth.

Trained to the tune of deceit, drowned

in his own facade.

Fierce yet fickle is the warrior confused,

Drunk with power.

Empowering grenade dances to destroy utopia,

Siding with the devil is better

Than turning a blind eye.

So,

Drink these tears, they cry for justice

A visionaries delusion.

Remember the plight of our desperate fight

To save the melting mother,

A goddess betrayed, raped for the perceived benefits

Appear unaffected, docile and obedient

Continue to watch them squeeze oil from our father’s bones,

Soaking the rose that has yet to bud;

The deflowering of our hour.

Pulling strings in plain view,

It’s too late to build

barracks askew.

The blissful barricade must be erected,

Protect policy, advance the

eventual advent march.

Lose the ideals of peace and prosperity,

Such birth defects castrate our army.”

Let us pray this to end quickly

Severed riddles fragmented and forgotten,

Funeral pyres, bludgeoned babies and broken promises,

Busted up sunsets setting in finality,

The final regress of this epoch

Pure

Chaos

This is the persuasion of my nightmare.

A vision worthy of

Vicarious depravity

surrounding the ground

upon which we lay.

The tomb of my father has been in upheaval

At the thought of such

disheveled dissolution,

Lost in the fray, we must pray

That history does not repeat

Lest we wish to grovel at the feet

Of a tyrannical tormentor tired of time.

Swift succession sees a troubling crime

A drop of the hat as miners mine,

The long abandoned shafts of our minds.

A redundant redemption, pointless.

The created must become creator

Fickle fate finds this to be best,

All the rest is up to you.

Very true. It's the lack of knowledge of history that keeps it repeating. It's really quite sad.

Powerful piece filled with honesty and a plea for people to open their eyes and stop looking away, stop submitting to the feeling of helplessness. Wonderfully written and full of umph! I know that's not a word but you get my meaning. :)
