Not I

Not I

A Poem by JRB
"

Sadness denied is a pain accepted,, until it hurts no more, as the door opens only to shut.

"

The words she spoke

Where not hers

The thoughts she thought

Where only hers

Her life was his

Her safety was questionable

Her emotions hide

Disguised in appearance

Offered to please

Acceptance wanted

For the fear

That haunts her thoughts

Life is special

A gift

Never to be taken

Or stifled

Abused

Used

They’re both

The same

Destruction

Of a life

Needed to live

Who forgives

Where life fails

So does love

Echoes of silence

Screamed in regret

A renewal

Broken

Piercingly thru

Isolation once again

Very powerful.. I felt as if I had stepped inside a void or and abyss of soul self. Even thought the isolation seems to win...our shell exists and in each moment lived a hope is renewed..xo

Wow, this was a wonderful write. You seem to put emotion in your pieces and write with a story in mind.
