Life for Death

Life for Death

A Poem by JRB
"

What was established, Was a false sense of attachment

"

When you close your eyes to the truth
And open them to the lies
You have no one to blame for those tears
So wipe them from your eyes

For once you let your fears of loving
And being loved takes over your senses
You are seeking only loves offerings its pleasures
You are better off covering up your nakedness

Leave thru the threshold of loves doorway
Before your laughter becomes your tears
And they will flow down your cheeks
Until they rig and scar your face
With loves disgrace a broken heart

It has been stated and told
That when you try to direct loves pathway
You interfere with love directing your course
Remember love does not attain the falseness of love
You do

Nor does it want to be obsessed by you or another
For love has no more aspiration
Than to fulfill its self in all of us
Yet that’s not what all of us want or get

When you love yourself first
Than just maybe
Another will love you second
Your love should never be last

When you have lost a love
Believe me you lost not a thing
Love was never found
What was established
Was a false sense of attachment

Of wants over-riding needs
That’s what you lost
So when you let another
Take away your self-esteem
Your identity

You’re giving in to their control
And beliefs of acceptance over yours
Your heart your being your soul
And most of all your life

My favorite part of this poem is this: "
Until they rig and scar your face
With loves disgrace a broken heart"

You seem to be really into your own thoughts as you wrote this and you've portrayed it quite nicely if I may say so myself. However, it is a bit longer than it needs to be in spots, yet at the same time your flow is natural and nice, so it is a pleasant read all the way until the last word. You have lots of insight and knowledge, and you've poured lots of it into your strong poem. Good write!
