Hate in a Heart

Hate in a Heart

A Poem by JRB
"

And when their hooked and love is true I will lock the door and say we are through

"

Hate will soon fill my heart
Hate where love had its start
Because when loves abused my friend
Its hate that conquers in the end

This is how we started out
This is what our story’s about
We fell in love mine was true
yet it was lacking inside of you

Being hurt from love before
You shut yourself behind its door
Now it is hate that guides your heart
Hate where love once had its start

Now I pay the price for loves hurt deeds
As I am paying you plant more seeds
So when your love is finally through
I’ll be nothing but a carbon copy of you

Only this time our roles will be reversed
I will be the one who gives the hurts
I will make them beg I will make them humble
Then I will give them all a jolly tumble

When they’re hooked and their love is true
I will lock the door say we are through
The roles will be reversed my friend
I’ll make them hurting in the end

This is the cycle which time will tell
It was our story a journey thru hell
But it can change you can choose
Our precious love we may not lose

If you become more than my lover, again
By opening your heart to become my friend
This is the start which we have to make
That might stop this forth coming break

Yet a promise I give you not
For this hate has started to rot
Yet time will tell that’s all that does
So please pay attention my dear dove

Eve
I always despised those teachers that made the whole class stay in at recess because of what one child had done.

I like this piece very much. I read grief here. Anger is absolutely vital to the process of healing. A realization, cruelty illuminated.

A lust for the subtlest of vengeance. If unchecked, a poison that branches infinitely. if halted, a fragile bridge to wholeness and healing. You captured it so very well.

Hate and love- opposite sides of the same coin. I think many times what we classify as "hate" is really the heart shutting down from hurt and rejection and going into protective mode.....and you can sense this from this poem, your willingness to breach the gap before you close your heart for good. Just like love, it is an emotion that emits from our passion.
