I closed my eyes it begins

I closed my eyes it begins

A Poem by JRB
"

They always seems to be leading me Back towards the archway of my latent memories

"

While walking down the pathway of contemplation
That’s always sandwiched between
Many of my long-lost insights
Drifting aimlessly all around
My bewildered mind

They always seems to be leading me
Back towards the archway of my latent memories
In which I find them more often than not
Serving as a stepping stone
Towards and into my insanity

With fear as my own anticipation
I since the long overdue and awaiting
Of those self infected punishments
Standing before me, guilt, shame, hate
And the outright distrust

I question myself in doubt to revisit
In hopes of striking an accord
With my soul of spiritual being
To make sure that it was not lost, to my inner plight
But rather was first in my thoughts, in the eternal night
