Your friendship Is what I truly treasure
lately You are more to me than just Part of my life, a teacher,
a lover Most of all
You are my friend
The person with whom I dare to be myself I
need not wear a face To be what you are
For my soul is naked
In front of yours
For better or worse I am not a prisoner In
your world I need no guard I think what I say
I say what I
want
You understand my contradictions Where other
misjudge my intentions Your loyalty sparks my resources There is no
abuse, neglect, or putting up with I can, keep silent to myself And fear
not, my stillness
For you have lit the torch At the entrance of
my hidden grotto That my friend only a few have done You are so
special to me You have shown me something Very important
You have shown me the way To myself
That state of mind More than anything has For that I thank you my
friend I love you
I hope that you know that Of course you
do because I do I love you for that reason and
what more could one ask for? You described the true meaning of understanding and accepting another for who they are. It seems like there are only a select few in life who can offer that gift, so glad you found one!
The passion in this piece is is full of verve. The sentiments you share give way to ingenuity that is palpable. Thank you for sharing this unique, and heartfelt prose!

aw that's adorable. Anyone with good friends should be able to relate to these feelings. Any other comments I have are actually included in Hannah Paige's comment, so I don't think I need to reitterate them. :) Thank you.
This is beautiful, and i do not say that lightly. Not only does this poem feel sweet, and genuine, and kind, but it has a sense of awesome beauty that lingered even when i finished reading. The words you used were simple, but in a most elegantly strategic way. The way that you broke up the lines worked very well and added another, more dynamic aspect to this piece. This poem was relatable in a way that many others are not. This writing comes from a place that is inside everyone, a place of love, hope, and inspiration. People yearn to feel the way that you must have felt when writing this poem. Don't ever take that for granted. Well done.
"...lit the torch at the entrance of my hidden grotto..."
Great line.
To have another accept you, understand you, and love you, is a gift beyond compare. You write of it eloquently.
Enjoy your gift.
