As I have known From the first meeting

As I
Have known
From
The first meeting
Of our eyes

My soul could be
Or maybe already is
Apart of yours
A companionship
A friend
A mate
Even
A lover
For countless ages
To come

I also have known
That our first glance
Was not
In truth
Our first
Brief curious look
It was
Rather a second
A third
A fourth

No matter
It is not
The number
Nor how often
It is only that we did
For me
All those glances
Were through
Feelings
Of mixed emotions

It was in those moments
Of indecisiveness
That the temperament
Of love’s ways
Decided to tear away
The veil
From my heart’s fear
My mind’s cautions
Removing the face
Of timeless injustice

Ahead
We find ourselves
Back facing
Each other
In the garden

Where in faith
We both started out
We neither stood separated
Nor took from one another
At those final moments
Before separation
And
Nakedness called upon us

We stood motionless
Yet in motion
With respect to
The face of love
We stood only
In the oneness
Of our own existence
Its experience

Back to a time where those first glances taught me to proclaim that living and loving is not living and loving alone. For it has to be shared with another and through another, to reach its completeness, will that other be you. I believe so, do you?
