You Could Be FreeA Poem by Jaye Yee-VandalynPurity of water, Milky turquoise of colour, Once glaciers. Now melt to serve, A purpose it never dreamed it would. Where such beauty rose from destruction, I lap at the immense hope, That suffering in this world would pass. The end, an evolution to A state of infinite tranquillity. Luminescent reflection of emerald waters. Glimmering, swimming about was All the beautiful dreams, People dreamed for this world. They lived on. Forgotten by us, they incubate; Patiently synthesize. And Dreams would, They promised me. One day. Come True. An invisible shield, it was. For a moment, I forgot, the hatred, the wars, Societal pressures. An illusion so breath-taking. A feat only Mother Nature could conjure. In those waters she hid them. Those dreams. For a magician never reveals its secrets. It was a gift. For those who dare escape, The clutches of lives, Perfectly choreographed, By institutions and states. Here, Outside your window. Nature begs, For you to be free. - Jaye Yee-Vandaylyn
