The Mistress

The Mistress

A Poem by Nhes G.
"

this poem describes the feeling of a mistress as she decides to put an end to a secret affair

"
The cool breeze chills her
But her body can stand it
What makes her colder
Is her decision to quit

When she looked at him
He touched her nose
What a gesture of love!
She can't afford to lose

How she loves this man!
She wants to make her own
Though she knows exactly
That this affair is wrong.

Her heart breaks
Thinking how she shares
From his love and time
With somebody else.

This love isn't just right
Though it's true and pure
For the wound it can cause
Can't find any cure.

She will treasure this moment
For being the last
She will bring with her
The mem'ries of their past.

But she can't tell him goodbye
She can't speak a word
In the corner of her eye
A tear tries to loose.

Before a tear drops
She gave him a kiss
Then turn and walk away
To hide her sad face.

As she walks away
She heard him call
But she never turned around
For her tears began to fall.

She's leaving him now
She wants to free herself
From being committed
To a secret relationship.

Maybe someday she can find
Someone she deserves
To love her as a woman
And not as a mistress.
