Armadillidiidae

Armadillidiidae

A Poem by Jane E. Ries

Who am I? I’m flat as a pancake and round as a pill? A pill bug.

Who am I? I chiggy-wig here and chiggy-wig there. I’m a chiggy-wig.

Who am I? I’m no potato pest. A potato bug.

Who am I? A soft round metal pellet? A BB Bug.

Who am I? Curled-up, balled-up, rolling away to safety. A roly poly.

Who am I? Smaller than an armadillo’s tooth. An armadillo bug.

Who am I? I’m a garden creature not a hair bug. A wood lice.

Who am I? A crab, a lobster, a crayfish, a shrimp, a krill, a barnacle? No, but they are my family.

Who am I? A gentle armadillidiidae that lives under stones, wood and leaves.

About
These stories and poems represent a book in the making. The title of which is still undecided. My goal has been to present animals in ways that are compassionate and often funny. I hope you enjoy and .. more..
