Sage and Salt

Sage and Salt

A Poem by Janene
"

Just some things to remeber.

"
Sage and salt
Salt and sage
One gives us wisdom
The other gives us age

Too much of one
And just get old
Too much of the other
And we are just to bold

A little of both
Is what we need
Aged advice
That you should heed

For when we are ancient
And our lives assessed
Our children will know
With which spice we were dressed

Oooh, I like it. I almost sang the first stanza, and I'm a big fan of short lines and short stanzas. I pictured a motherly figure wagging her finger while issuing this caution. I like the message too; wisdom tempered by worldly experience (at least that's how I see it).

Thank you. You are spot on. As I reach the half century mark I am able to look back with aged eyes.
