Unemployed State of MindA Poem by janemariaDescription of joblessness and job hunting
I wrote my resume, yet again,
In Calligraphies, unknown to Word, Cover Letters, Edited for an -th time, Yet, trashed into the Can, once again. My Lord! Tell me how I erred. Was it wrong to plough hard in law school, The fruits to turn so sore and sour Dreams to clash, lash and squash. I was a pride at home, Last day, Today, a shame, no one spoke about, Of course not, I wasn't ostracised here, Just Forbidden from a public appearance. Was it wrong to not like the corporate? Was it wrong to choose litigation for poor? As I emerged a lawyer, I'm afraid - Nepotism had beaten down my dreams, bad. My mom said, "10k job?" "What is it worth for?" My mom say - "atleast 10k. worth for." Contradictions. Confusions. Hold me down. Swaying me round. Drowning me. Sick. Another resume, today. Mechanically - produced perfection. Sigh. Coffee? Another Cover Letter. Stomach twitched. Lied down for a moment - some perks of unemployment.
