Take Me With YouA Poem by Margret SentWe only want what we can't haveWhat would happen if we decided to get away? Think only of possibilities and forget about our mistakes Leave this place behind and never look back Would you take me with you if given the chance?
That was well in the past when you would have said yes I want to move on from this, I just want to forget You were my comfort zone, someone I’d fall on back to But who knew there would come a time when you got sick of it, too
Told someone you like her when I was just an earshot away You lost all your words when she was looking your way Got your arms around her just right where I could see And all those photographs together, they’d last an eternity
I never once cared of talking about him even when you were there Now it seems you’re doing exactly that, makes me sick of her And we slow dance through memories of how I hurt you all those years It’s all coming back to me, the pain and the tears
Tell me what game we are playing ‘cause we’re both losing anyway We’re trying to hold on to something that has long gone away Who are we fooling, we only want what we can’t have Screw all those times when we thought we were in love
