Reality

Reality

A Poem by Margret Sent

I was trying to make things right
I had to see you one last time
If only my presence could change your mind
But you cut me off at the first sight

What if, just what if, all we could ever be is what if
We couldn't be anything more, we don't even know what this is
You have your pride and I also have mine
None of us would say sorry even if we'd lose all we are

I know you'd pull the trigger the first chance you'd get
It wouldn't matter to you if that means I'm dead
I lose faith in you and everything that's good
Cause all this world has ever thought of me is nothing but a fool

I'm raising the white flag before I could fight
You gave up on us before I could prove I'm right
I lost all I have, you didn't regret letting me fall
I tried to wake you up but you slept through it all

This speaks very strongly. And does a great job describing the emotions. Great work!
